OCAP Print E-mail

The Out of Control Action Plan is a part of SPC (Statistic Process Control). It tells you what to do when problems occur in the production process. There are programs that do this, however a sheet is often sufficient.

When to use

The Out of Control Action Plan is used when something is about to happen or happen during the production. It is set-up in the β-phase and gets its final form in the mass production phase.  Out of Control Action Plan is used:
  • to prevent faults in the production process
  • to detect problems in the process and to solve them by operators/service engineer

Description

The OCAP originates from the Operation Sheet in this sheet there are references to the OCAP documents when something goes wrong. These manuals are more or less flow diagrams containing a check list, which goes on till the fault is detected. It happens that the operator can repair the problem, however it could also be that an engineer needs to come.
