A Pareto is a diagram that makes a ranking of all rejects of the product/process. Pareto states that in principle 80% of all defects is caused by 20% of the problems.

When to use

A Pareto is mainly used in the (α-) β-phase and mass production. It gives a good clear insight of the rejects of the products.

Description

All rejected products from a certain run are gathered, categorized and put into a table. From this table a Pareto is made, this is a graphical representation of this table. This gives a immediate and clear picture of the main rejects, these have the top priority to solve.
