Before starting the tests you have to know how to measure the outcomes. When you know this do a small test to see how reliable this measurement is. This can be done by doing Measurement System Evaluation. With this tool you measure three things: resolution systematic deviation random deviation
Without this assessment you will never know if you see significant changes of if its an inaccuracy in the measurement itself. Set (if possible) specifications which the products should. With this you can see how close you are from the final product. The first tests are done to proof if the principles work. Small scaled test set-ups are used or different machines are “abused”. Make an orderly table with pro’s and cons, so it is easy to evaluate. This is however never all saying some principles are more difficult to test than others, take the stretch of a process also into account.
